How I am savoring my summer

Savoring Summer: Embracing the Magic of Little Moments

Time truly flies when you have little kids. One minute you're marveling at those tiny fingers grasping yours, and the next, they're running around with boundless energy, urging you to keep up. It is so interesting to have a child on each end of this spectrum. That’s why, I am committed to savoring this summer. Summer, with its long days and sun-drenched adventures, can slip by in the blink of an eye — but oh, how I want to embrace every single moment. These moments that light are soul on fire are truly the ones that make us glow from the inside out. These are my 3 steps I am following to make sure I soak up all of the magic without feeling completely depleted.

1. Creating Rituals for Self-Care

In the whirlwind of playdates, snacks, and spur-of-the-moment trips to the park, self-care can easily fall off the radar. I am truly trying to practice what I preach. I know that when I take small moments of care for myself that I am better able to be present for my family as well as my guests in the spa. That’s why I’m setting up little rituals — morning stretches in the sun, evening skincare with some deep breathing, or just five minutes of mindful silence after the kids drift off. These aren’t just pauses; they’re sacred moments that anchor me and keep my energy vibrant. When self-care becomes ritual, it refuses to get lost in the hustle.

2. Staying Present in Each Moment

It’s tempting to rush ahead to the “next thing,” whether that’s the next activity, meal, or milestone. But this summer, I’m making a conscious effort to slow down. When my kids splash in the sprinkler or enjoying a s’mores by the firepit, I’m choosing to fully be there — feeling the water droplets, hearing their laughter, and soaking in every bit of joy. Presence is like a superpower, turning fleeting seconds into warm, lasting memories.

3. Planning with Flexibility

I’m a planner at heart, so marking our summer adventures on the calendar feels natural. But life with little ones is beautifully unpredictable, so I’m blending structure with flexibility. Having plans helps me carve out time for fun and self-care, but I stay open to spontaneous moments — an unexpected picnic, a detour to our favorite ice cream shop (Coneflower, IYKYK), or just a lazy Monday. This balance keeps summer feeling both organized and free.

The truth is, a beautiful summer glow starts from the inside. It’s nourished by self-love, presence, and gentle care — for ourselves and those around us. So as you savor these sun-soaked days, remember to tend your soul like you tend your skin. Take care of yourself, soak up life’s joys, and watch your inner radiance shine brighter than ever. Here’s to a summer full of glowing moments — inside and out!
